Phoenix Brass recently played at Burbage Village Hall to support Bob Norbury who set himself a challenge of walking around the Hall’s field to raise funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Bob himself had a tragic accident in September 2018 that resulted in him having his right leg amputated. He was taken to Great Western Hospital, Swindon before then being airlifted by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remained for some time. The extent of his injuries meant he required an above-the-knee amputation on his right leg, and he has needed a range of treatment on his left leg.
Bob owes his life to The Wiltshire Air Ambulance and wanted to raise further funds as a thank you for their support in his time of need.
Phoenix Brass was delighted to support Bob’s fundraising event which raised £1,000 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Previously, the Band had joined Bob and his Burbage Spotty Dog Choir in May 2016 to help raise funds for Help the Heroes, a charity set up to help provide better facilities for British servicemen and women who have been wounded or injured in the line of duty.
