Phoenix Brass is funded mainly by player subscriptions, fundraising which includes concerts, other fee-paying engagements, coffee mornings, public donations, membership subscriptions from the Friends of Phoenix and the Grand Raffle Draws in the summer and at Christmas. The Band is an autonomous organisation and is completely self-financing and does not have any direct sponsorship or any regular financial input from any local authority or organisation.
As with any organisation, Phoenix Brass has to meet various costs to keep the band running and functioning as effectively as possible. Costs include instruments (including the purchase and maintenance), uniforms, music, materials and administrative costs, hire of the band-room and insurance.
